I bought this MacBook Pro in mid 2011.
When I plug in my MBox 2 Mini Audio Interface into the USB port on my MacBook Pro it is not recognized it at all. Also the MBox 2 Mini power light does not turn on which indicates that the USB port is not providing enough power to the device. I have tried both ports and neither work. Is this a known issue and are there any upgrades or hardware changes needed to make this work?
Avid Pro Tools 9 Software with Mbox Mini Interface Specifications System Requirements. Avid-qualified Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.2 or higher (32- or 64-bit). A: The Digidesign CoreAudio Driver for Mac OS X 10.4 'Tiger' has not been tested with Mac OS X 10.3 or 10.2. We recommend that you use the correct version of the driver for your version of Mac OS X. The Digidesign CoreAudio driver version 6.9 for Mac OS X 10.3.x can be downloaded here: Digidesign CoreAudio Driver 6.9 for Panther.
It works perfectly on my friends old MacBook, why wouldn't it work on my MacBook Pro??
